At the commencement of the Ahunuvaiti Gatha we read as follows:
Holy Zarathushtra's entire thoughts, words and deeds our inspirations from Ahura Mazda, the Creator, leading mankind to perfection and bliss. Welcome the Aspects/Gifts of the Spirit, and the holy Gathas (heavenly songs of Zarathushtra) and have faith in them.
I praise you reverently O, Holy Gathas. 1: I pray to you, O Mazda, with uplifted hands and to the Holy Spirit, the first and foremost of Universal Truth. Grant me the light of wisdom and Good Thought, thus bringing solace to the Soul of the Earth. 2: I will serve you O Mazda Ahura and Insightful Conscience, granting understanding of both our physical and spiritual selves through Universal Truth, leading us into your light. 3: I praise this Universal Truth and Insightful Conscience as never has been done before, and I invoke the Perseverance that makes your everlasting Kingdom grow. 4: I'll lead my soul towards heaven by pure thought, and awareness of the blessings which Mazda Ahura pours down upon good deeds and I'll teach the mankind to strive for Universal Truth. 5: O, Universal Truth, when will I realise you? Insightful Conscience, will I recognise you and the Kingdom and your followers? Through The Holy Word we will convert those gone astray to your best path. 6: O Mazda, come to us through Insightful Conscience, making us aware of your Universal Truth . O, wise Ahura, grant Zarathustra and his friends the strength of The Word, so that they may overcome the hatred of their enemies. 7: O Universal Truth, grant us the blessings which flow from pure thought, and grant us strength, so that King Vishtaspa and I can spread your Holy Word to the world at large. 8: I seek your perfection, O Ahura, through Universal Truth, and I seek it also for my kinsman; Frashaoshtra. 9: O, Ahura Mazda, with these gifts, I offer you my sincere songs of praise and will never provoke your displeasure, yet advance your kingdom (instead). 10: Bring fulfilment to the wise and the worthy. For I know all prayers, with a good goals in mind, are fulfilled by you. 11: Through those prayers may we enjoy the gifts of truth and virtue. Instruct me, through your spirit and knowledge, when and how creation first came into being.

1: Gaia complained to Mazda: "Why did you create me? Who gave me life? Anger, destruction, outrage, misdeed and violence are everywhere. You're my only protector. Therefore, reveal a Savior who can show me a way out of this situation." 2:Then Mazda asked Universal Truth: "Who might this Teacher for mankind be, so that the earth may be lovingly protected? Who will you, O Universal Truth, appoint as their Guide, so as to repel aggression and the followers of the Lie?" 3: Universal Truth replied to Ahura Mazda: "There is no leader on earth who can help. Even those yonder have no understanding of Truth and how to respond to the meek." Gaia said: "I call for the strongest of beings to help." 4: Truth interjected: "Mazda is aware of what the evil doers have done and what they will do in the future. So, Ahura will choose and we will be satisfied with his decision." 5: Gaia said: "So, we pray to you, Ahura Mazda, with uplifted hands, and appeal to protect the righteous and good people and their leaders from harm, and to safeguard them from attacks by the wicked ones." 6: Then Ahura Mazda, who knows the laws with great wisdom, spoke: "There is no ruler or lord who lives according in the Truth who could be Shepherd." 7: Gaia interrupted: "Mazda Ahura at one with Truth, there must be a Teacher who can help guide people and save them from going astray?" 8: Mazda continued: "However, the only one who has listened to our commands is well known to me. He is holy Zarathustra, the Teacher. He is the only person who is eager to proclaim the Truth Therefore, the gift of speech will be granted to him." 9: Then, Gaia lamented: "Should I accept the support of a feeble man with no power, and expect people to listen to his words? I desired the help of a strong and mighty king! How can words help when I need strong handed support? 10: O, Ahura Mazda and Universal Truth, (you know best, so) bestow Insightful Conscience upon Zarathustra and his followers. May your kingdom grant full wisdom to Zarathustra, so that he may lead the world to peace and prosperity. O, Mazda, we all recognize him as your noblest son. 11: When will you, Universal Truth and Strength of Character, welcome him to your kingdom? O Mazda, when will the Society of the Magi accept your teachings? O, Ahura, now that a helper has come, we are also ready to serve you."
Remarks;
This Chapter is shown in the form of a play, the important role of which is played by the 'Soul' of the Earth, representing selflessness, self sacrifice humanity. Moreover, Universal Truth, The Holy Spirit and other Amesha Spentas (Gifts of the Spirit) and even Ahura Mazda referred to in this paragraph are the chief factors in saving humanity from cruelty and injustices reigning everywhere. After a series of questions and answers, Zarathustra is appointed as the most worthy person for carrying out the above mission and for leading the people of the world.

1: Now, to those eager for truth, I will explain how to praise Mazda Ahura and pray for good thoughts. I will also explain the sacred lore of Universal Truth, so that you may reach perfection and thereby realize the light of truth and find true bliss. 2: Listen the highest truth with your ears and carefully reflect on it with illuminated mind. Use your clear-sighted reasoning to decide between the two paths of good and evil. Before ushering in the Day of Judgement, wake up to this counsel. 3 Now in the beginning these twin mentalities revealed themselves in thought, word and deed as the better and the bad. The wise will choose rightly, but the unwise will not do so and will go astray. 4 When these two paths first came in contact, in the beginning, at the dawn of creation, they generated energy and inertia. The followers of untruth and wickedness will suffer, but the followers of truth and goodness will enjoy a wealth of inner peace. This situation(1) will continue for eternity. 5: Of two paths, the false ones chose the worst deeds but the one having pure mind, clothed with the imperishable light of knowledge, chose the truth. The person who performs good deeds with full faith for pleasing Mazda Ahura will choose the truth. 6: The followers of the Daeva (2) chose the wrong path, because they were in doubt and were deceived. They followed anger, which is the percussor of all evil deeds (3), and sought to destroy the spiritual life of the people. 7: Those gifted with spiritual strength, good thought, truthfulness and purity, will be granted direction, firmness and integrity, by this devotion. They will be successful in life's ordeal and will be regarded, O my Lord, as your good helpers. 8: When sinners receive punishments (4) of their sins, O Mazda Ahura, they will then realize, from these experiences, the power of your good thought through The Holy Spirit. They will learn how to strive to cast away falsehood and untruth, and aid the victory of truth and purity. 9: May we be sincere followers, like those who have renewed the world, O, Lord of Life and Creation. May we enjoy your help through Universal Truth, so that whenever our minds waiver in doubt, our hearts and thoughts may turn in unison to you, for Insight. 10: When the false ones face defeat, and when nothing but truth is left, the good will be fulfilled, and will enjoy the blessings of Universal Truth and Mazda's shining abode.11: So, understand the laws of happiness and pain, as the logical consequences of your own actions leading to punishment for the liars and blessings for the pious, then eternal joy shall reign thereafter.

Those who destroy the world of truth through the distractions and deceptions of evil and false teachings(1), don't like this message but, for those who have dedicated their hearts to Mazda, it creates joy. 2: Deceived by these false lures, you are as yet unable to clearly realize and choose the right path. Therefore, Mazda Ahura appointed me as your teacher, to guide all people away from evil paths, so that we can all live in accord with Universal Truth. 3: What will you, Mazda, bestow upon us through your spiritual fire? What is this bliss, promised to all and attainable through truth and purity? What direction should the wise one's follow? Enlighten me with your inspiring words, O Mazda, so that I may convert all people onto the right path. 4: Aid us, O Mazda, through your Spiritual Aspects and Gifts of the Spirit, so that we may attain pure mind and spiritual strength through purity and truth; sincere love and humility so that by developing these attributes we may overcome untruth. 5: Show me the path that is in accord with Universal Truth. Reveal the reward which befalls me, so that I may feel joy. Make me aware of everything, O Mazda Ahura, both in the past and the future(2). 6: The wise man who propagates the true religion(3) and makes people aware of my Holy Word, which inspires them to Wholeness and Immortality(4), will enjoy the highest bliss. He will realize God's Kingdom, which increases in strength through the energised pure mind. 7: The universal mind who first spoke the Word, shining in truth, is the basis for all our duties. That ever present light which fosters the light of faith do you, O Mazda, brighten in our hearts. 8: When I realized you in my mind as the First and the Last of Creation, my inner sight discovered that you are the Father of The Holy Spirit, the creator of Universal Truth and therefore ultimate judge of actions in life. 9: Perseverence, Wisdom and the creation of the good earth are from you, O Mazda Ahura, as well as the choice to follow the good Shepherd, the deliverer …. or not. 10: Mankind must chose the good Shepherd, guardian of Universal Truth, benefactor of good mind. He that is no Shepherd and is inert, does not attain good 11: In the beginning, when you created soul and body, intelligence and knowledge, you bestowed everyone with free will, since you placed life in the physical body and gave us the power to act, speak and guide, 12: Therefore, everyone propounds his or her belief, whether true or false, whether enlightened or unenlightened and, wherever doubt appears, faith, instilled from insight, will guide the soul. 13: Lord, you are well aware of all thoughts and deeds, open or secretive, those who undergo the highest penance for a small sin. You watch everything with radiant eyes and observe them in accord with Universal Truth. 14: I ask you Lord, about the past and the future? What reward and punishment will be registered in the Book of Life for the good and evil, and what happens on the day of resurrection. I ask you O Mazda, who is aware of past and future events, what has been ordained for the righteous ones and how will the false ones be treated on judgment day? 15: I ask you, Lord, what is the painful pang of the consequences felt by the astray soul as a result of its own actions, and those who knowingly advance the cause of The Liar, the deceiver? Also, what is the penalty for those who have no other fulfilment in life, except separating the faithful people from their true shepherd. 16: If a man of good insight with strength of body strives earnestly for progress of family, community and nation, and advances the cause of truth and righteousness, does he merge in Truth? When and how is this wish fulfilled O, Mazda Ahura? 17: Which of these two paths; that of Insightful Conscience, or that of the wicked, will be chosen as the greater? The wise man should actively teach the secrets to the ignorant ones, lest they be misled. Let not the ignorant go astray. O Mazda Ahura, lead us to good thought. 18: Don't listen to the words of the false and the wicked ones, because they will lead the family, community and nation to ruin and destruction. It is our duty to resist such persons and repel them with spiritual weapons of purity and righteousness. 19: May the people listen to the wise man whose teachings warm the soul. May they listen to the person who is capable of spreading the truth with eloquence of speech, through your radiant fire, O Lord of Wisdom, assign the destinies of both the wise and the misled. 20: Whoever follows the Truth shall live in the light. However, the liars and evil ones will remain an eon in darkness with woe and remorse. To such a life of drudgery they condemned themselves through their own deeds. 21: Those who are devoted to Mazda Ahura in thought and deed, will be granted Wholeness and Immortality, Universal Truth, Courage and Insightful Conscience. 22: These things are clear to the man of wise understanding and who seeks full realisation. He glorifies Universal Truth and moral character by his word and deed. He will be your best helper.

1: Relatives, compatriots, and friends(1) are worshipping you to seek the Truth. The misled (ie pagans) are also praising Ahura Mazda, the Lord of Life and Wisdom. How can we all be messengers of your message, Lord, and repel those hostile to you? 2: Ahura Mazda, the Lord of Life and Wisdom, ruling over the world, through his Wisdom and Knowledge, answered them: "We have chosen the holy path, which is a good friend and guide, illuminating Universal Truth for you. May it be yours." 3: O, you misguided ones who go astray, you are broods of untruth and evil-minded persons. Those who follow and honour you much are also wicked. Out of your self-centered minds, evil has sprung. You have become notorious in all the seven regions of the earth. 4: O, you devil worshippers, you have perverted people's minds, so that they commit the worst actions, and separate themselves from good thought and Truth. 5: You have defrauded mankind of spirituality and salvation inasmuch as the evil mind is from you. Consequently, evil thoughts, evil words and evil deeds, which lead them to ruin, boomerang back to you. 6: Sinners may succeed at first and may even become famous for their evil deeds, but You, O Lord of Life, are wise and aware of everything and will judge the deeds and motives of everyone. O Mazda, wherever Your Rule extends, Universal Truth will prevail. 7: Sinners don't understand how real progress is attained through conscientious effort, and are unaware of the fiery test. You, O Ahura Mazda, know best. 8: Among those sinners, like the famed Yima son of Vivanghan(6) who irks us with sacrilegious speech out of vanity (or "gave us ox meat to eat"). Such issues I surrender to your judgement. 9: The misguided teacher distorts the sacred lore, leads mankind astray and prevents the seeking of good thoughts. I appeal to you from the bottom of my heart, O Mazda, and to the Truth. 10: These persons denounce gazing at the sun and the earth with respect (7) as sinful, since they distort religious teachings. They ensnare the pure minded to follow the mirage of untruth, destroy vegetation and use violence against the righteous. 11: False teachers regard the false ones as great persons, because of their dignity and worldly grandeur. They hold back respectable men and women from attaining their wishes and enjoying God's gifts. They distract the minds of righteous and truthful people and destroy their lives. 12: Through their wrong teachings, they try to hinder good deeds and lead good people astray with cynicism, destroying their lives. Owing to their evil thoughts, they prefer ferocious wolves, like Grehma and Karpans, to righteous and pure persons, and wish lordship for the followers of false. However, Mazda has specified severe punishment for them. 13: The powers (wealth) won by these voracious wolves (like Grehma) through wickedness and evil thoughts will ultimately cause misfortune and destruction in their own lives. But he will yearn for the message of your holy word reciter, who will strive to lead him to the vision of Universal Truth. 14: Grehma(4) and Kavis (5) have tried to ensnare Zarathustra for a long time. They have approached the followers of untruth and their wilfully blind followers for help. They wish death and destruction for the world of creation, yet are deceived to hope the invincible (Haoma) will help them. 15: The wilfully deaf and blind will ultimately be defeated by their own actions. But those who nurture are the greatest asset in life, and are carried to abode of good thoughts. 16: The teachings of the true and wise are for the intelligent. O Mazda, resolve these my remaining doubts quite openly so that I may pour forth blessings and instructions from my lips against the violence of the followers of falsehood.

1: Everyone should act in accordance with the everlasting law of Universal Truth, because the Spiritual Leader will weigh the actions judge the followers of truth and untruth conscientiously.2: Those who fight evil (The Liar) by thought, word and deed, and use their hands to convert the misled to the good, do the will of Ahura Mazda. 3: Those who act with love and justice towards the righteous, whether ruler, colleague or friend, and one who zealously fosters spiritual nourishment to others, will enjoy the realm of Universal Truth and The Holy Spirit. 4: So I pray that evil intention may remain away from Your flock; heresy from rulers, the Lie from colleagues, slander from friends and wicked and deceitful leaders from the world. 5: To reach my final goal, I will invoke the Gift of Hearing (inspired thought), the greatest of the helping virtues, attaining a long life in the Kingdom, hoping to stay on your path of Truth, where Ahura Mazda dwells. 6: As a true devotee of Universal Truth and seeker of your Best Spirit, I long to fulfil my mission (shepherd to people) on earth, and to have communion with you as a friend. 7: Come to me, O Mazda, and reveal your Truth and Insight, so that my words may be heard and spread – not just by the Magi, but by all. May your path for us be clearly seen. 8: Guide me clearly, through good mind, so that I will continue to praise you, O Mazda, and aspiring to Universal Truth, granting us Wholeness and Immortality. 9: These two great powers of yours, O Mazda, which are promoters of righteousness, can be achieved only through wisdom and divine insight. May we attain the blessings of these two mighty and equal powers through the soul. 10: All our past, present and future lives are yours. Please grant them their reward in keeping with your love, and raise our souls to your Kingdom of Light and eternal joy, through good mind and Truth. 11: O, Ahura Mazda, inspire wisdom, righteousness, good thoughts and moral courage in me. Hear me and forgive me, irrespective of whether I am worthy or not. 12: Reveal yourself to me, O Ahura, and through Perseverance, grant me strength and the power of the Holy Spirit. O Mazda, I offer my prayers for Truth and Insight. 13: Support me, O you of great insight, and show me the precious gifts that flow from your Kingdom, O Ahura, which are the result of Good Thought, and which brings blessings and prosperity through Perseverance and Universal Truth. 14: To You, O Mazda, Zarathustra dedicates his whole being together, his loving thought, his whole strength, his best words and deeds, in accordance with the Kingdom.

1: Through dedicated gifts of deeds, words and deep meditation to you, O Mazda, we will attain eternal life, righteousness, spiritual strength and perfection. May we remain faithful both to you and these gifts. 2: The pure-minded and righteous man, O Lord, whose soul is in accord with truth, thinks of You alone and dedicates his good actions to You. May we approach You, O Ahura Mazda, praising You and singing Your songs. 3: We give whatever is due to you with humble adoration. May you bring all creatures to perfection. The wise and clear-minded man enjoys spiritual strength and bliss always. 4:We yearn for your mighty eternal light which is shining through truth, O Lord of Life. The light which guides and helps the followers of truth clearly. It is the same shining flame, O Lord of Wisdom, which reveals the hidden evil in the hearts of the misguided at a glance. 5: How great your power O Lord, and how deeply I yearn to serve humanity with good deeds. I wish to be one with You through truth and pure mind, helping the needy and those poor in spirit, and protecting the meek and lowly of heart (or "meek devotees"). You are greater than all Daevas(3) and wicked persons. 6: Since you are above all, O Mazda and Universal Truth, I seek your guidance through all the stages of my earthly life, so that I may pray to you with a sincere heart, ultimately returning to you in adoration and worship. 7: Where are your faithful devotees, O Mazda, who, being aware of your teachings through The Holy Spirit, will not leave you when faced with trouble and distress. Instead they will use those teachings with intellect, and will try to spread your message. I recognise no other except you O Mazda, therefore protect us through Universal Truth. 8: The Liars might threaten us with evil actions, since they would bring death and destruction upon people and themselves. Strong ones who lack ethics will always bring oppression upon the meeker. They don't care for your Sacred Law; the Law of Universal Truth, O Mazda, because they remain distant from truth, and The Holy Spirit remains far from them. (1) 9: Those who scorn the Gift (Spenta) of Faith(2) due to doing evil and being unaware of the Holy Spirit, which is highly esteemed by the wise, will remain far from such gifts, just as the evil and destructive ones will remain far from us. 10: Being aware that love and faith towards Mazda are actual sources of truth, the wise will teach those who have gone astray how to train their minds with good thoughts, perform good deeds and love others. Ultimately, all wicked persons, by learning/facing the truth, will come towards you, O Mazda Ahura. 11: The twin gifts of Immortality and Wholeness will lead us to inner light. Through will power, pure thought, love and faith towards Mazda, our spiritual strength will increase. Through these gifts, O Lord of wisdom, we can overcome our enemies. 12: What is your Will for us? What of prayer? Tell us, O Mazda, so that by following your guidance we may enjoy the promised rewards. Teach us the path of good thought and self-realization. 13: You have shown me the path of The Holy Spirit; the path based on the teachings of Saoshyants, the Teachers, which recommends honest ethical actions, will lead us to true wisdom and happiness. Reaching you O Mazda, is the ultimate .. Those who act with wisdom and seek to serve and advance the world, fulfil God's holy plan and will enjoy this reward. 15: Teach me, O Mazda, the best words and noblest deeds, so that I may worship you with a clear mind and a pure heart. Through your power, O Ahura, make it so that I may enjoy a new life full of truth.

1: He who brings happiness to others will be given happiness by the will of our Lord, Mazda Ahura. I pray for strength of body and soul so that I can remain focussed on truth. O, Universal Truth, grant me the blessings of perfect illumination – the life of a good mind. 2: The person who makes others happy will enjoy your gifts. O Mazda, bestow it also upon he who seeks your divine light. Through Universal Truth, the Eternal Law of Truth and Purity, O my Lord, grant us wisdom and knowledge; Divine Gifts, so that we may enjoy contentment throughout our lives. 3: The person who shows us the path of truth and happiness in the physical world, and saves our souls in the spiritual one, will receive God's gifts. The path which leads us to the truth and reality, will ultimately lead to the abode of Ahura. The lovers of truth and those in love with you, O, Mazda, will ultimately become one with you through wisdom and holiness. 4: Then I will know you as strong and holy, O Mazda, when the Liar and the Righteous reap their fruit. When Your light shines in my heart and gives me warmth, my soul will feel the strength of truth. 5: So I beheld you as the First and Eternal; the Most Bountiful One, O Mazda. In the beginning you ordained that deeds and words shall bear fruit, evil comes to evil and good blessings to good. Thus it will continue till the end of creation. 6: O, Mazda, when your pure wisdom, with Courage and The Holy Spirit come towards us, the material world will progress towards truth and righteousness, and Faith will brighten the hearts of free men and women with the light of love, guiding them towards truth. Then, no one will lead them astray. 7: When good thought entered my mind and asked me, "Who are you?" "Where do you come from?" "What is the meaning of life?" 8: Firstly, I replied; I am Zarathushtra; a true foe of the Liar, shunning all evil. I will support all that is Righteous to the utmost of my power, that I may attain the future of your Kingdom, as I praise you, O Mazda. 9: When The Holy Spirit came to me, and the light of truth and knowledge entered my heart, I realised you as pure and holy, O Mazda Ahura). You asked me; "Who will you worship most?" And I replied: "As long as I am able and have power, I will esteem and praise your Holy Fire of guidance and Insightful Conscience, O Mazda, and will abide by your Law of Universal Truth. 10: Guide me on the True path; the one which I have ever yearned. Now you see our faithfulness and come to us, question and test our character so we may gain spiritual strength, especially the leaders, who are inspired by You, O Mazda, who will guide the people towards fulfilling Your plan. 11: When The Holy Spirit entered within me and through your inspiring words I grew wise and insightful, I realised you as Divine and Sacred, O Lord of Life and Wisdom. Although I have realised it is difficult to create faith in the hearts of others, I will continue to pursue your goal willingly and selflessly. 12: When you commanded me to follow Truth with full wisdom, you spoke words which were my own wish too. I will seek to inspire the voice of Insightful Conscience within me and fill my heart with divine light, knowing that the just and the wicked receive their consequences. 13: When The Holy Spirit entered me, and the light of Truth and knowledge brightened my heart, I realised you as divine and sacred, O Ahura Mazda,. Grant me a long life so that I may achieve my wishes and desires, the gift which no one else except you can grant. A life full of service to humanity, and activity for the progress of the world which depends upon Courage. 14: Just as a good man loves his friend and brings solace to him, Lord, like a loving friend, grant bliss to my follower. That joy which is achieved only by truth. I will protect, Lord, the religion of truth and all who sing the song by your holy words. 15: When The Holy Spirit entered within me and the light of Truth and knowledge brightened my heart, I realised you, O Lord of Life and Wisdom,. Then I realised that silent and deep meditation is the best means of acquiring knowledge and spiritual insight; Never let the good leaders keep appeasing the followers of falsehood, because compromise of principles suppresses the truth. 16: Therefore, O Ahura Mazda, Zarathushtra has chosen the holiest spirit for a guide, which is yours. May truth and righteousness strengthen our material lives. May spiritual power, faith and love lighten our hearts, like shining rays of sun. Grant our reward, O my Lord, for our good works.

1: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly: how should we worship you? My heart is full of love for you, O Mazda! Let one who knows you well show me the right path. May we enjoy your help through truth and righteousness, O my Lord, and may our hearts be enlightened with pure and deep meditation.2: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly: What is the supreme goal of a spiritual life? What is the reward for the person who strives to reach that goal? The person who is holy is our leader, because of his truth and righteousness. He is the guardian and flower of humanity; a true friend and healer. 3: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Who is the Creator and First Father of the Truth? Who laid down the path of sun and stars? Who causes the moon to wax and wane. All these and many other others I wish to know O, Mazda. 4: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Who holds the earth and the heavens apart and prevents the latter from falling? Who is the sustainer of water and plants? Who makes the wind blow and clouds blow swiftly? Who is the Creator inspiring Good Thought, O Mazda? 5: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Who is the Creator of light and darkness? What artist designed sleep and wakefulness, rest and activity? What artist created the dawn, the day and the night, guiding the wise man to fulfil his daily duties properly. 6: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Is what I ask correct? Do love and faith increase by good work, truth and righteousness? Does Courage increase through pure mind? For whom have you created this Mother Earth ("pregnant cow" Z symbol of goodness and joy) which brings joy? 7: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Who created faith, wisdom and moral courage in us? Who gave the son wisdom to fulfill his father's aspirations throughout his life? Through such signs, I seek to understand you through the holy spirit, O Mazda. 8: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly, enabling me to reflect on what has been inspired by you. I wish, my Lord, to understand your teachings through Good Thought, and to enjoy perfection in life through truth and purity. What sort of good should I engage in, so that my soul will attain peace and joy? 9: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. In what way should I dedicate my whole self to you? The man of Truth wishes for your Kingdom, O Mazda, where Universal Truth and Good Thought dwell. 10: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Teach me about your inspiring faith (path to enlightenment), and how it is the best path for all the living beings. The faith which is in accord with Truth, by which life proceeds in a continuous improvement cycle. Awaken faith in our hearts so that through its light our actions may turn towards truth and righteousness. Guide us, O Mazda, so that we yearn for you and absorb your Truth. 11: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. In what way will Faith and kindness come to dwell in the hearts of those who seek you? I realise that you have chosen me as the first teacher to fulfil this difficult task. I will, therefore, regard those who obey your law as your friends and others us your enemies. 12: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Who do does I preach to? To the perpetrators of evil, or to the victims? Are the followers of evil, who reject your precious gifts, also evil? 13: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. How should we completely drive the deceiver, the Liar, away from us? We will avoid those who reject truth and wisdom, show no interest for The Holy Spirit and make no attempt to follow the your path. 14: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. How should I deliver the Lie into the hands of the truthful person for cleansing through your holy words? By complete defeat of the followers of untruth and frustration of their unethical hopes, we will drive away their deceit and hatred and make them ineffective, so as to destroy it. 15: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Which side will you grant victory to when both sides stand asking for your help? 16: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. Who is that brave and victorious person who would give us the necessary protection through Lord's teachings? Show me the wise and the soul-healing leader through inspirations, and grant him clear insight and full obedience of Your laws through Insightful Conscience. Do grant, my Lord, the said two gifts to any one whom you love. 17: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. How do I reach you and find joy through your guidance? How can I effectively convey Universal Truth, Wholeness, Immortality, and your Word (Mantra), to help those ready to unite with you? 18: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. How can I earn the reward of control of the ten senses (1) led by the mighty mind, and reach Wholeness and Immortality through Universal Truth? 19: I ask you humbly, O Ahura, tell me truly. What consequences are there for those who do not pay those who earn? The penalty will come to him in the end. 20: How have the those who fight for their selfish ends (Daevas) gained power? The have flung all earth to hatred and anger with the help of Kavis, Karapans and Usikhsh (2) instead of striving to advance the world through Universal Truth, bringing peace and love for all.
(1)The 10 senses refer to; hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling, touching, walking, ability, understanding, balance, etc. are called "mares" by Zarathustra. The "strong stallion" is the mind. Horses and camels are rewards from God. The mares can lead mankind towards bad fortune and wretchedness. It is only the strong stallion of mind that can control the "mares" and reach the "camel", or the true and eternal light, and receive the real illumination.
(2) Kavis, Karapans and Usikhsh were opponents and enemies of Zarathustra They were head priests of the worshippers of untruth.

Yasna 45
1: All of you who have come from near and far to learn, I shall now speak to you. Listen and hear ( or "lend your ears" and hear) to these clear truths which I teach. Remember well and bear in mind what I tell you and never shall the false one destroy your soul or lead you astray with false teachings. 2: I will now speak about the two forces which have existed since the dawn of creation. The Holy One said to the evil one; "between us two, neither thoughts, nor teachings, neither will, nor beliefs, neither words, nor inner selves agree." 3: And now I will disclose the highest truth of the life, as I have learnt from the All Wise Ahura. Those who do not follow the holy words of Mazda as taught by me, will end in woe. 4: I will now tell you what is best for the life. Through Universal Truth, I have come to understand that Mazda, its Creator, is the Father of active Good Thought: but his daughter is good works. The all-seeing Ahura is never deceived. 5: And now I will tell you what the Holy One revealed to me, which is the best for humans to hear. Those who obey these teachings truly in their hearts (Insightful Conscience), shall enjoy the gifts of Wholeness and Immortality through good thoughts and good deeds, by the grace of the Holy Spirit. 6: I shall now speak of the one who is the greatest of all, praising him through truth and purity. May he hear our prayers through the Holy Spirit. May we reach him through pure mind, love and faith. May the Lord guide me onwards to the highest realms of Light, through his Wisdom. 7: Everyone, in the past, the present and those yet to be born, seeks redemption from him. The righteous soul shall triumph and gain Immortality, but the followers of untruth and the sinner shall suffer perpetual misery. This natural, balancing law has been laid down by Mazda Ahura through his power. 8: Since I have seen Ahura Mazda with my inner sight (soul), and the Holy Spirit, I shall seek his blessing with songs of praise. And since I have realized, through good word and deed, that Ahura Mazda is Lord of Life and Wisdom, and sole Creator of the World, I shall offer my sincere praise with full devotion. 9: With good Insightful Conscience and mind, I seek to do the right thing, since Mazda gave us free will. May the Wise Lord of Life grant us the strength to serve, enabling us to advance humanity towards truth through the deep wisdom of a loving mind. 10: He who seeks to exalt the everlasting Mazda Ahura with prayers , will be in his courage, strength and abode, and will attain Wholeness and Immortality. 11: Those who oppose the Daevas and their followers, and those who respect the name of our Lord and pay reverence to his wise Teachers, the true helpers of the religion, Mazda Ahura becomes a friend, a brother or, rather, a Father to them.

1: Which land should I turn to now? Nobles and friends keep away from me and there is nothing to gain from my peers, nor the Liar rulers of this land. How can I please you, O Ahura? 2: I am aware, O Mazda, that my wealth is small, and my friends and supporters few in number. So I appeal to you, O Ahura, as a friend seeks support from a beloved. Teach me your Universal Truth; the riches of good mind. 3: When will the day dawn when humanity seeks Universal Truth through the wise teachings of your Teachers? Who will Insightful Conscience; good thought, come to? I have faith in you, O Ahura. 4: The followers of untruth try to prevent those who support Universal Truth and progress through their actions. O Mazda, he who opposes him with his strength and soul walks the path of good law. 5: The strong and wise man who receives an unbeliever who seeks the truth, either because of his humanity or because of divine inspiration, and guides him to Universal Truth, will save him from destruction. 6: But the believer who refuses to help the unbeliever if approached, will fall into abode of the Liar. He who supports the Liar, will fall into the Lie, and he who supports the righteous is himself righteous. This is the law made by you for humanity from the beginning, O Ahura 7: Who have you appointed to protect me from the Liar's violence, O Mazda? Your Fire and Insightful Conscience will protect me and Universal Law will be fulfilled. Declare this sacred lore clearly to me. 8: He who thinks of destruction, his wicked deeds will not injure me but the hatred will bounce back to himself. Hatred and wickedness keep him from knowing Perfect Life and performing good works. Anger and hatred will not guard him from an Evil Life, which will be his lot. 9: Who is the wise man who teaches me to love the Lord of Truth? We will strive to understand your Eternal Law of Universal Truth through Insightful Conscience. 10: The man or woman who adopts your guidance in life, Ahura Mazda, shall enjoy Universal Truth and Courage's reward (1). This spiritual strength can only be achieved through Insightful Conscience. I shall teach them to worship you, and shall guide them when they march across the Judgement Bridge (2). 11: Kavians, and Karapans, the devil worshipping priests and princes, are united in trying to destroy the spiritual or true lives of people by their evil deeds and, when they approach the Judgment Bridge, they will face the consequences of their actions and will be destined to live in the House of the Lie for all time. 12: When the non-believing descendants of Turanian Fariyana begin to seek Universal Truth, and strive for world progress, Fariyana will then unite them through Insightful Conscience and reveal how Mazda Ahura's Law leads to salvation. 13: One who seeks to please the Teacher Zarathushtra and helps him to fulfil is mission, is worthy of honour. Mazda Ahura will grant True Life to him and his love and Insightful Conscience will increase in power. He will regard him as an ally of Universal Truth.14: O Zarathushtra, who is your virtuous friend, the follower of Truth? Who is the person who strives to make the Magi known? This person is certainly King Kava Vishtaspa, who is united with you, Mazda, and it is to him whom I will address this good message. 15: To the descendants of Haechat Aspa (4) and Spitama, I will now teach you how to discern between the wise and the unwise. Through good deeds you shall reach Ahura's Universal Truth. 16: Frashaoshtra Hvogva (5), come here with the faithful whom we wish eternal light; where truth and righteousness are united, and wisdom and spiritual strength reign supreme; in which Mazda Ahura increases. 17: Wise Jamaspa Hvogva, since I instructed you that activity is better than inactivity, you worship with full Insightful Conscience and good deeds. Ahura Mazda knows the wise from the unwise. 18: Whoever wholeheartedly works for me, I promise my best love and gifts through Insightful Conscience. But I oppose him who opposes me. Such is the choice of my will and my mind. 19: He who fulfils Zarathustra's wish, helps world progress and will enjoy abundance and Eternal Life as a reward. These things you have revealed to me, O Mazda, who knows best.

Yasna 47
1: He who is lead by the Holy Spirit and whose thoughts, words and deeds are good and with truth, will be granted Wholeness and Immortality by Mazda Ahura. 2: He who led by the Holy Spirit lives the best life. His words shall be full of love and wisdom, and his works will be guided by his of Courage through faith, inspired by the realization that Mazda is the Father of Universal Truth. 3: You are the Protector of the Holy Spirit. You have created this bountiful joy-bringing earth. When people go towards Insightful Conscience and consult with him you will grant them peace, O Mazda; and Perseverance will be the protector. 4: Liars, who turn away from your Holy Spirit, feel ever-frustrated. But not so with the truthful. Whether one is rich or poor he is to show love for the righteous, but shun the Liar. 5: You have promised the best to the righteous through the Holy Spirit. However, the false ones will remain far from your love, since their evil actions proceed from their evil minds, and which darken their soul. 6: Lord of Life and Wisdom, through the Holy Spirit and your blazing Fire, you will separate the righteous and wicked. Those who hear will heed.

1: When truth ultimately conquers untruth, and the deceit and fraud of the misled Daevas is revealed to all, praise and devotion to Ahura will increase bringing blessings. 2: Reassure me and tell me what you know, Ahura; Will the righteous overcome the Liar before your plan unfolds? That indeed is a message to bless the world. 3: He who follows the best teachings of Ahura, is holy. He who seeks the Lord of Wisdom knows his secret (mystical?) lore through the wisdom found in Good Thought.4: Faced with the free choice of good or evil, one's deeds, words and Insightful Conscience will surely follow. When one chooses the good path out of free-will, it will be followed by his faith and be in tune with it, and he will serve your purpose, Ahura Mazda, and be in your abode at last. 5: Do not let tyrants rule over us, but good rulers who are guided by truth and goodness with your gift of Persistence. (or Let this 'staying power' develop in/rule me, not sinfulness). Purity and spiritual rebirth is best for humanity. We should toil for the progress of the world (be good shepherds) for the glory of the Light. 6: Persistence is our safe refuge. She brings us self realisation and eternity (rebirth and strength of soul), the gifts of good thoughts. Mazda Ahura has clothed the Mother Earth with vegetation, and food for people since the dawn of life, the seeds of Universal Truth.7: Let nothing tempt you to violence! Keep hatred and cruelty far from yourselves. He who holds on to truth and good mind is holy and shall live in your abode, O Ahura, where righteous people. 8: We yearn for virtue, Mazda, and more so your Kingdom, Ahura. We welcome the manifestation of Universal Truth, promoting goodness through the good spirit.9: How will I know that you rule over all, O Mazda, even over the destructive ones who menace me? Let the pattern of Universal Truth through Insightful Conscience be revealed to me, since a Teacher should be well aware of how these blessings will flow. 10: When will I reach self realisation? When will the Lie and greed in the world end? When will the wicked Karapans' (priests) plundering, and the intoxicating (or intoxicated) tyrant's rule over countries with evil intentions, all end? 11: When will Universal Truth, together with love and faith towards Mazda, come towards us, bringing progress and abundance? Who shall bring us peace from the cruelty of the wicked? Who will the Wisdom of Insightful Conscience come to? 12: It will be to the Teachers of the world who are wise and who follow their call of duty in Universal Truth through Insightful Conscience. They are, in truth, vanquishers of hate and anger.

1: O Mazda, the biggest obstacle in my way is this person called "Bandva", who likes to mislead people. Come towards me, O Beneficent Lord, grant me strength to help those who go astray and comfort that you conquer evil. 2: Bandva impedes me, since he teaches untruth and deception, keeping people away from truth and purity. He seeks neither faith, nor takes counsel with Good Thought, O Mazda.3: Your Truth shall prevail, and untruth will be frustrated. Therefore, renounce all association with the Liar and strive for fellowship with Good thought instead. 4: Those who increase violence and cruelty with their tongues hinder the workers for truth and progress. Those whose bad deeds prevail, rather good deeds, will end up in the abode of the unethical Daevas and the Liar. 5: He who links himself with Insightful Conscience, through his free choice and self sacrifice, will be wise through Universal Truth. With this, he will dwell in your Eternal Realm, Ahura. 6: Please reveal your Holy Plan, O Mazda, so that I may know the truth and how to reveal your Religion (or path of excellence) to the world, O Ahura. 7: May they listen with hear my words carefully, as you bear witness, O Ahura, when I proclaim your holy words to both friends and nobles, so that they may live in accordance with your Law. He who helps his fellow worker is good. 8: Grant the best blessings of Universal Truth to my friend Frashaoshtra (2) and me, O Mazda Ahura. So that through Courage we will serve your plans. 9: Let the Helper who was born to deliver mankind from difficulties listen to these teachings carefully. Truthful persons should never associate with the followers of The Liar. Wise Jamaspa, the faithful are aligned with truth and righteousness will enjoy the ultimate reward or paradise.10: With the gift of Insightful Conscience, Mazda will deliver the good souls of the pure-minded, and righteous people of Character (Insightful Conscience) for your safe keeping, through your powerful and eternal Strength. 11: But the souls of tyrants, evil doers, evil speakers, evil thinkers and followers of untruth will meet their evil consequences in the abode of the Lie. 12: How will Universal Truth and Insightful Conscience guide its devotee Zarathustra? I praise Mazda Ahura, in my hymns, longing for what you deem best.

1: When will my soul be free and at peace, and through whose Grace? Who will protect me and my followers? None but you; O Lord of Wisdom, nor any path other than alignment with your gifts of Universal Truth and Insightful Conscience, Ahura Mazda. 2: How can one who only loves his own security, love the joy-bringing Mother Earth? The righteous man that follows Universal Truth shall dwell in the radiant Sun, the abode where wise ones dwell. 3: He who lives the spiritual life through Courage and Insightful Conscience will find Universal Truth, O Mazda. Also, he who helps advance the world, against the power of the Liar, will receive the blessings of Universal Truth. 4: O Ahura, I will worship you with Universal Truth, Insightful Conscience and Courage. I aspire to the path of Truth aligned with the House of Song (Heaven). 5: In accord with Universal Truth, pour your blessings down upon your Singer and Teacher. With help and love, guide us up to your Light and Eternal bliss. 6: O, Great Ahura, Zarathushtra, the lover of Universal Truth, will lift up his voice in Holy Words (Manthra), praising you wholeheartedly and anticipating that the you may always grant him eloquence of speech guided by wisdom. May the Creator of Wisdom teach me Insightful Conscience and eloquence of speech..7: I shall follow the Guardians of freedom ("horses") through your encouragement, Truth and Pure Thought, and join you in your Abode. Guide me, Lord, and held me in my tasks.8: I will reach you with inspired verses from the heart, O, Mazda Ahura, and with uplifted hands, I seek you, as a beloved friend, through truth and Insightful Conscience. 9: By chanting these holy words, and by deeds inspired through wisdom and pure mind, I return to you when my destiny is fulfilled. I eagerly seek your supreme wisdom. 10: May all my deeds be deemed worthy in your sight, both those performed in the past and those in future. The shining sun, stars and shimmering dawns all reflect your Glory in tune with Universal Truth, O Mazda Ahura. 11: I declare myself your praiser, O Mazda, and as long as I have the will and strength through righteousness, I will continue like this. May the Creator of Life attain progress and reform of the world through righteous people.

1: O precious gift of Courage, urging our inner selves towards Universal Truth inspired for the service of mankind. Therefore, I will strive to do good. 2: First of all, I pray for Universal Truth and dedicate myself to Persistence. Grant salvation to the faithful through Insightful Conscience. 3: Listen and hear, people of good deeds, good thoughts and words of Universal Truth, of whom Mazda is your teacher. 4: How do we judge by reason? How do we forgive trespasses of the ignorant yet not compromise with the truth? Where do we find the path to Universal Truth? How do we cultivate persistence? How do we activate Insight; and where is your Kingdom? 5: These questions are from a humble shepherd who seeks to foster the path of Universal Truth for the world by good deeds. As a seeker of the Kingdom he will bring insight to them. 6: He who is 'better than good' is virtuous, and progresses the advancement of the Kingdom of God. However, he who does not strive for this, worse than bad for him on the Day of Resurrection.7: You who created the earth, water and the plants, O Mazda, grant me Wholeness and Immortality - Divine Gifts, as well as strength and perseverance through Insightful Conscience as revealed in your teachings. 8: I will reveal your holy word to the wise, so they may know both the ill fate of the liars, and those gone astray, and realize the blessings accrued by those who seek the Truth. He who reveals your holy words to the wise will be blessed. 9: Both parties, O Mazda, will be put to the Fiery Test. This alchemical process will reveal the truth in the souls of these people, indicating their Award, which will be frustration will be the false ones, and blessings to the true. 10: The man who seeks to lead the world astray, and away from the path of truth, O Mazda, is the offspring/child of falsehood and poor understanding. I invoke Universal Truth and your loving blessings. 11: Who is a friend to Zarathushtra, O Mazda? It is he who seeks Universal Truth and is devoted to Insightful Conscience. He dedicates his life to the progress of the Assembly of Magi (1). 12: The Kavis (followers of Untruth) will never reach the same bliss of Teacher Zarathushtra, which is there due to his spirited fervour and perseverance. 13: The followers of untruth distort the True Path to their inner selves. But at the Judgment-Bridge, on the day of resurrection, his soul will rebuke him openly for his bad deeds, words, and deviation from the path of truth. 14: False teachers never show regard to Divine Laws and are destroyers of world harmony. Their false teachings lead to the destruction of the world, but their evil deeds will ultimately catch up with them and they will end up in the House of the Lie. 15: The reward which Zarathustra has promised the Magi and all the followers of this religion, is the House of Song (heaven), where Ahura Mazda dwells. This reward is a divine blessing and can only be attained by truth and Good Thought. 16: With the help of the Magi, King Vishtaspa has found Wisdom through The Word, inspired by Insightful Conscience. He found this wisdom in the Universal Truth decreed by the Holy Ahura Mazda, and which leads to salvation (or 'the light'). 17: Frashaoshtra Hvogva has dedicated his dear self to serve the holy cause of Mazda's Faith. May the Almighty Ahura Mazda grant him your gifts that lead to Universal Truth. 18: Yearning for Light, Jamaspa Hvogva has chosen the path of Divine Wisdom through Universal Truth, attained through the spiritual strength of Insightful Conscience. Grant us, O Ahura, those blessings that we may ever cling to you, O Mazda. 19: After realising his inner self, Maidyo Spitama also dedicates his life to Truth. Whoever strives to realize the Truth, should teach the Laws of Mazda to the world and, better still, engage in service to humanity.20: All of us offer homage to you. Guide us towards prosperity, Truth, Insightful Conscience and Perseverance as we yearn for eternal bliss with you, Mazda. 21: The devotee of Perseverance becomes holy through good thoughts, words and deeds. Through his inner self, he promotes Truth through good thoughts. Through Insightful Conscience and self control, Ahura Mazda shall grant us His blessings (3) through his Kingdom. I pray for these divine blessings. 22: The prayerful devotees who seek Universal Truth is blessed by Mazda Ahura, who knows all who are and all who have been. I will honour their names and strive to emulate them in righteousness.
(1)The Magi association was formed by persons who had full faith in Zoroaster's teachings and hardly strived for the improvement of the world, under his leadership. Its important members where Vishtaspa, Frashaoshtra, Jamaspa and Maidyo-Mah.
(3) Ahura's blessings are peace of mind and Insightful Conscience; enlightenment of heart, will power, freedom from poverty and enjoyment from contentment and eternal happiness.

1: Every wish of Zarathushtra has been fulfilled by Ahura Mazda, who has granted him a blessed and holy life for all Eternity. Even those who had opposed him have learnt the good Faith in theory and in practice. 2: So, let all seek to prayerfully please Mazda with thoughts, words and deeds. King Vishtaspa, Zarathustra and Frashaoshtra are treading the path of Truth and have chosen the Faith inspired and revealed to Teacher, as taught by Ahura. 3: Mazda Ahura has given Insightful Conscience and Truth to Zarathustra's youngest daughter, Pouro-Chista and her husband Haechataspa. Therefore, consult with your inner self and wisdom, and seek Perseverance. 4 This Faith of Mankind ensures that everyone, whether; patriarch, master, servant, or noble, will be responsible and accountable. May this heritage, whose foundation is Love and intelligent judgment, be bestowed on the followers of Truth forever. 5: These words I speak to you; maidens and newly wed husbands. Understand them deep within your souls and live always full of love with pure mind. Try to surpass each other in truth and righteousness. Thus each one of you will reap the reward of joy and happiness.6: Hear the Truth, O, men and women. Strive to avoid the attractive lures of evil that snatch the follower away from his true self, and know that the happiness achieved by untruth leads to pain and woe. The wicked are a bad influence on the righteous.
